Description

  • Design, build, and maintain curated analytical datasets and data models that serve as canonical metric sources.
  • Own metric definitions end to end, from business discovery through production implementation and dashboard surfacing.
  • Build and maintain executive-level dashboards and self-serve reporting tools for business stakeholders.
  • Partner with data science, product, and engineering teams to translate business questions into modeled data assets.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards through testing, documentation, and monitoring.
  • Drive consistent data modeling patterns, naming conventions, and documentation practices across the data organization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering with a focus on curated, consumer-facing datasets.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining robust data models from structured and unstructured sources.
  • 3+ years of experience writing accurate and effective SQL.
  • Experience designing data models to power multiple use cases, including experimentation.
  • Fluency in Python or another programming language, with solid fundamentals in version control and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience building and owning executive-level dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate ambiguous business questions into metric definitions and data models.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working between technical and business teams.
  • Preferred: Experience building or contributing to a semantic layer or metrics store.
  • Preferred: Experience with modern analytics and data engineering tools and workflows such as dbt or BigQuery.
  • Preferred: Experience working on monetization and/or subscription products.
  • Preferred: Interest in Discord or online communities.
