Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers while supporting technical excellence and career growth.
  • Manage team performance from both technical and people leadership perspectives.
  • Own the on-call rotation structure and reduce operational toil through automation and self-service tooling.
  • Design and implement data architecture and infrastructure aligned with business goals and the company platform.
  • Drive performance, cost efficiency, data modeling standards, access controls, and query optimization for the data lakehouse.
  • Establish engineering best practices for code review, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Champion documentation practices, including runbooks, architecture decision records, and onboarding guides.
  • Own the team roadmap, including priorities, sequencing, and execution against business goals.
  • Manage capacity planning, sprint planning, and roadmap prioritization with stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally to translate data and business requirements into scalable pipeline and platform solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with a track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams and delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • 3+ years of direct management experience with product-focused engineering teams.
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration, data-driven performance tracking, and customer or stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience owning production data pipelines at scale, ideally with Apache Airflow.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse such as Redshift or BigQuery.
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one scripting language, with Python preferred.
  • Experience with modern data stack tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, Kafka, or similar.
  • Experience with data governance, lineage, or data quality frameworks.
  • Experience operating in a regulated or compliance-sensitive data environment.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
