Description

  • Conduct site characterization activities including walkover gamma scans, mine waste sampling, and borehole logging support.
  • Assist with and oversee drill rigs during borehole drilling activities to ensure proper execution and data collection.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate geologic borehole logs.
  • Perform and assist with downhole gamma logging of boreholes.
  • Use and maintain radiation detection equipment in accordance with safety standards.
  • Collect, label, and document samples, including chain-of-custody records for laboratory analysis.
  • Compile and organize geological data such as sampling results, field measurements, borehole logs, and gamma data.
  • Support interpretation of borehole logs and gamma data under guidance from senior staff.
  • Assist in developing 3D volume estimates, maps, cross-sections, and mineralogical assessments.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, presentations, field notes, and project records.
  • Support planning and execution of sampling and drilling programs.
  • Collaborate with GIS, engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to integrate data and communicate findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience, with internships, fieldwork, or academic projects accepted.
  • Foundational knowledge of geology, mineral systems, and field methods.
  • Basic understanding of radiation safety, radioactivity principles, and health physics, or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to learn and operate radiation detection and gamma logging equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail in data collection, documentation, and reporting.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to dynamic environments with problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, 3D geologic software such as Vulcan, Leapfrog, Minesite, or ArcGIS, and database tools such as Acquire or Access, preferred.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and comply with OSHA/MSHA and company standards.
  • Valid U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfort with off-road vehicle operations, preferred.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, walk on uneven terrain, and work outdoors in all weather.
  • Ability to communicate face-to-face and by phone and perform repetitive tasks such as typing.
