Description

  • Develop and maintain Python/Django web applications, client automations, and SaaS features from agreed specifications and implementation plans.
  • Set up projects using the existing application foundation and reusable components, creating new components only when necessary.
  • Translate client requirements into structured technical specifications and step-by-step development plans.
  • Use Claude Code to generate code, tests, and documentation, then review and correct outputs before production.
  • Build user interfaces with Django templates, established UI components, Tailwind CSS, HTMX, and related technologies.
  • Write and run automated tests, ensuring relevant tests pass after each task and the full suite passes before delivery.
  • Integrate applications with systems such as Xero, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, email platforms, and Stripe.
  • Deploy and troubleshoot applications on Render and Azure Container Apps.
  • Improve shared templates, reusable components, testing practices, and delivery processes to prevent recurring defects.
  • Maintain technical documentation, handover notes, progress updates, and timely escalation of blockers.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional full-stack development experience, including 2+ years with Python and Django.
  • Strong knowledge of Django ORM, models, migrations, views, forms, templates, and the Django admin interface.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, efficient database queries, and debugging web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
  • Ability to critically review, test, and correct AI-generated code.
  • Experience translating requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests; familiarity with pytest and Playwright.
  • Proficiency with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and systematic troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices, including permissions, multi-tenant data, and safe file uploads.
  • Strong written English, independent work management, clear documentation, and proactive communication of progress and blockers.
  • Advanced Claude Code knowledge, including skills, plans, and subagents (preferred).
  • Experience with SaaS Pegasus, Tailwind CSS, HTMX, Alpine.js, Celery, Redis, Docker, Render, Azure Container Apps, or AI application APIs (preferred).
