Description

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Android applications based on business needs and technical designs.
  • Own feature development from requirements through delivery, with accountability for performance, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders on technical design and delivery planning.
  • Refine requirements, break down work into manageable subtasks, and support efficient agile execution.
  • Mentor developers, promote best practices, and help maintain high code quality standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure full code review coverage.
  • Write unit and functional tests for Android features.
  • Assist QA with reviewing, creating, and delivering functional automation tests.
  • Contribute to development standards and improve engineering practices.
  • Work on secure Android solutions for a payments technology platform operating across multiple countries.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Android development experience.
  • Strong experience with native Android development using Java and Kotlin.
  • Strong understanding of MVVM and modern Android architecture patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with popular Android libraries and integrations.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, including build obfuscation and encryption.
  • Experience with encryption frameworks and utilities such as HTTPS, TLS, SHA-256, and Cipher Block Chaining.
  • Excellent communication skills for documentation, planning, and collaboration.
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, resourcefulness, self-motivation, and a team-player mindset.
  • Experience with third-party device integration, such as watches or payment terminals, is desirable.
  • Understanding of client-server full-stack architecture is desirable.
  • Understanding of Pub/Sub and Producer/Consumer messaging patterns is desirable.
