Description

  • Lead new business development across digital strategy, custom design, custom software, staffing, and hosting offerings.
  • Conduct targeted outbound and inbound outreach to build a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
  • Research emerging markets, growth sectors, trends, potential customers, partnerships, products, and services.
  • Build and deepen client relationships with executives and decision-makers based on trust, respect, and results.
  • Develop custom solutions that address client needs within agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with account management to grow existing client relationships and support long-term partnerships.
  • Partner with internal teams to create and execute sales strategies, proposals, and pitches.
  • Lead contract negotiations and develop Statements of Work aligned to project scopes and deliverables.
  • Support RFP responses and craft comprehensive proposals for prospective clients.
  • Represent Detroit Labs at conferences, networking events, and other industry gatherings to generate business opportunities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of advanced sales experience in strategy, consulting, and digital solutions within tech services, custom software, strategy, cloud, or IT sectors.
  • A strategic hunter mindset with experience penetrating new markets and acquiring significant business.
  • Proven success exceeding sales quotas through large-scale, multi-year digital solutions sold across complex sales cycles.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with experience influencing C-level decision-makers and forming strategic partnerships.
  • Ability to travel frequently and engage clients in person to nurture relationships and close deals.
  • Senior-level collaboration skills with cross-functional teams to craft contracts, proposals, and sales materials.
  • Sophisticated problem-solving skills for managing complex client challenges and developing innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for engaging diverse corporate audiences, including executives.
  • An innovative, forward-thinking approach to exploring emerging technologies and improving client solutions.
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth, including understanding and applying justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in business practices.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $125,000 in year 1.
  • Uncapped on-target earnings of $430,000 per year, with bonus payout based on performance by end of year 2.
