Description

Design and maintain the entity, record, and relationship data model.
Implement probabilistic record matching, deduplication, and known-record suppression.
Establish provenance so nodes, edges, and outputs trace back to source records.
Develop relevance and priority scoring models for large, imperfect datasets.
Own calibration, thresholding, and abstention policies for uncertain or high-risk cases.
Implement embeddings, vector storage, retrieval, and grounded generation workflows.
Integrate language models through approved managed services and maintain self-hosted alternatives.
Build secure ingestion, transformation, validation, publishing, and audit logging pipelines.
Detect source drift and generate representative synthetic data for development.
Document assumptions, transformation logic, limitations, and technical designs for review.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, applied machine learning, ML engineering, or production analytics engineering.
Strong Python and SQL skills with experience working on large, imperfect operational data.
Experience delivering systems for sustained operational use, not just exploratory analysis.
Routine use of AI-assisted development with sound judgment about when to verify outputs.
Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders who must defend them.
US citizenship required.
Active US Secret clearance required; favorable investigation and CAC eligibility needed from the start.
Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites, DEFCON AI HQ, and vendor facilities.
Preferred: active Top Secret clearance.
Preferred: experience with probabilistic matching, record linkage, master data management, identity management, and graph data modeling.
Preferred: PostgreSQL, pgvector, graph algorithms, scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, AWS Glue, Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka, NiFi, and federal DevSecOps/RMF/ATO environments.
