Description

  • Own the technical architecture and roadmap for cross-asset margin and risk systems.
  • Design and build correct, testable, and observable services implementing margin methodologies and regulatory rules.
  • Lead real-time risk enforcement on the order path while balancing latency, accuracy, and safety.
  • Improve service reliability and performance, including throughput, state recovery, database load, and failure isolation.
  • Partner with Product, Brokerage Operations, Compliance, and adjacent engineering teams on system behavior and integration boundaries.
  • Establish standards for transactional integrity, idempotency, reconciliation, feature flags, and staged rollouts.
  • Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and raise technical standards as the team grows.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for production issues and drive durable incident prevention.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of backend or distributed-systems experience, with demonstrated technical scope and ownership.
  • Experience owning high-volume production systems where defects could cause financial loss, data-integrity failures, or inappropriate customer restrictions.
  • Experience designing and shipping transactional, low-latency, high-throughput systems.
  • Strong Go expertise, or deep Java, C++, or Rust experience with willingness to work primarily in Go.
  • Deep knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including transactions, consistency, and concurrency.
  • Experience with event-driven and service-oriented systems, RPC, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies, plus Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated focus on testing, edge-case analysis, reconciliation, and safe production rollouts.
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills, including mentorship and collaboration with operations and compliance partners.
  • Experience with margin or risk across multiple asset classes, derivatives, brokerage, clearing, exchange, ledger, payments, or settlement systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with margin methodologies, workflow orchestration such as Temporal, observability, performance tuning, or production-critical migrations preferred.
