Description

  • Drive new Lakebase revenue by identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities within a defined territory.
  • Partner with regional Account Executives and the broader account team to progress strategic deals.
  • Lead outcome-focused conversations with platform teams, developers, data teams, and central IT.
  • Sell fully managed Postgres for intelligent applications and position Lakebase for operational workloads.
  • Run complex, multi-threaded sales cycles from discovery through commercial negotiation and close.
  • Orchestrate proof-of-value engagements and POCs for OLTP workloads, reverse ETL, and AI/ML-driven applications.
  • Compete effectively against legacy and cloud-native operational databases using benchmarks, references, and compete assets.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partner teams on territory plans, launch plays, and co-selling motions.
  • Enable broader sales teams by sharing Lakebase best practices, success stories, and sales motions.
  • Track revenue, pipeline, and account observations to identify areas needing additional focus or support.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience with a consistent track record of exceeding quota in complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Proven success selling data platforms, operational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or cloud-native DBaaS, or adjacent data and AI infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of modern data and application architectures, including cloud-native services, microservices, and event-driven systems.
  • Ability to sell effectively to both technical stakeholders and business stakeholders.
  • Experience leading specialist or overlay motions in partnership with core Account Executives.
  • Executive presence with the ability to whiteboard architectures, lead C-level conversations, and build trust with senior decision makers.
  • Strong value-selling skills, including discovering pain, building a business case, and quantifying outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and negotiation skills, with comfort presenting to large and small audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience selling Postgres, OLTP workloads, or transactional cloud database services, especially in large or strategic accounts, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data platforms, lakehouse architectures, and cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is preferred.
  • Understanding of reverse ETL, real-time decisioning, and operational analytics use cases is preferred.
  • Exposure to AI-native and agent-driven applications is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth, category-creating environment is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with partners and ISVs to drive joint pipeline and co-sell motions is preferred.
