Description

  • Provide technical leadership to guide strategic customers through cloud data warehousing transformations from evaluation to production deployment.
  • Architect and optimize production workloads, including end-to-end pipeline load performance testing and tuning.
  • Support Solution Architects on advanced technical sales activities, including proof-of-concept content, workload sizing, and performance estimates.
  • Serve as a deep technical expert in data warehousing specialties such as competitive evaluations, performance tuning, and migration planning.
  • Help customers with architecture design, data modeling, and production migration planning for business intelligence workloads.
  • Provide tutorials, training, hackathons, and conference presentations to improve community adoption.
  • Contribute to the Databricks Community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to align technical roadmaps for the Databricks platform.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role with data warehousing expertise, including query tuning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, data governance, debugging MPP warehouses, or migration from EDW systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing data warehousing technologies, including relational databases, SQL, data analytics, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, and OLAP.
  • Deep specialty expertise in at least one area: scaling large analytical cloud workloads, maintaining or migrating production data warehouse systems, or migrating on-premises EDW workloads to the public cloud.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Production programming experience in SQL and Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable.
  • 3 years of professional experience with data warehousing and big data technologies such as SQL, Redshift, SAP, Synapse, EMR, OLAP, and OLTP workloads.
  • 3 years of customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales role.
  • Ability to meet technical training and role-specific outcomes within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% when needed; remote work is available, with preference for candidates located in the job listing area.
