Description

  • Build infrastructure and products for the Databricks platform at scale.
  • Own resource management infrastructure for big data and machine learning workloads in a scalable, secure, cloud-agnostic way.
  • Develop reliable, scalable services and client libraries for massive cloud data workloads across regions and cloud providers.
  • Build tools that help Databricks engineers operate services across different clouds and environments.
  • Create services, products, and infrastructure at the intersection of machine learning and distributed systems.
  • Hire strong engineers and build an outstanding team.
  • Support engineers’ career development through clear feedback and leadership development.
  • Establish high technical standards through architecture reviews, testing, and engineering excellence practices.
  • Work with engineering and product leadership on a long-term roadmap.
  • Coordinate execution across teams to unblock cross-cutting projects.

Requirements

  • Experience hiring and developing talent, especially engineering leaders.
  • Experience creating efficient processes that improve velocity and quality.
  • Experience managing teams that build and operate high-volume distributed systems in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience scaling engineering teams from 5 to 30+ people.
  • Strong collaboration and team-player mindset across departments.
  • BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
