Description

  • Lead the North America Lakebase Field Engineering organization and take full ownership of its performance and scaling.
  • Manage a leadership team of technical field practitioners supporting the full customer journey from pre-sales to go-live.
  • Align closely with the global Lakebase sales leader to define and execute go-to-market strategy, resource prioritization, and distribution.
  • Build and maintain a collaborative, inclusive, and resilient team culture within a rapid-growth environment.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, and retain field engineering leaders and technical talent.
  • Scale the team rapidly while maintaining a high bar for talent and hiring quality.
  • Establish a strong management operating rhythm and review KPIs tied to developer adoption, production migration velocity, application launch timelines, and low-latency workload success.
  • Consult with strategic customers and partners to build trust, credibility, and solution positioning.
  • Help position Lakebase as Databricks’ operational database offering and storage layer for modern data applications and AI agents.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience building and scaling technical pre-sales and customer delivery teams.
  • Experience scaling and mentoring field and technical teams in both in-person and remote working models.
  • Experience working with growth, net-new, large, and complex accounts generating more than $1M ARR.
  • Senior-level technical pre-sales success at a reputable high-growth enterprise software company, with database market experience.
  • Deep technical competence in operational databases (PostgreSQL/OLTP), application development paradigms, real-time data streaming, application APIs, and AI/ML state frameworks such as vector search extensions or agentic workflows.
  • Strong understanding of core Lakehouse architecture.
  • Experience instituting processes that improve operational efficiency for technical field teams.
  • Organizational leadership skills with the ability to attract, develop, and retain talent.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing, ambiguous environment while delivering near-term results and building for long-term growth.
  • Willingness to travel at least 30% globally.
