Description

  • Provide technical leadership for strategic customers on big data and large-scale data warehousing implementations.
  • Architect and optimize production data workloads, including end-to-end pipeline load performance testing.
  • Design production-level data pipelines and improve their performance.
  • Serve as a technical expert in areas such as data lake technology, big data streaming, or big data ingestion and workflows.
  • Support Solutions Architects with advanced technical sales activities, including proof-of-concept content, workload sizing, and custom architectures.
  • Deliver tutorials and training to drive community adoption through hackathons and conference presentations.
  • Contribute to the Databricks Community.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architects and align customer technical roadmaps with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with data ingestion, streaming technologies such as Spark Streaming or Kafka, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging Spark or other big data solutions.
  • Experience building data-driven use cases such as risk modeling, fraud detection, or customer lifetime value (LTV).
  • Advanced experience in data warehousing, including query tuning, troubleshooting, data governance, and debugging MPP data warehouses or big data solutions.
  • Experience migrating workloads from EDW systems such as traditional SQL, Redshift, Snowflake, Synapse, or EMR across OLAP and OLTP workloads.
  • Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Elastic, or Sentinel, plus telemetry/high-velocity log ingestion and anomaly detection.
  • Proven track record of maintaining, scaling, and extending production data systems.
  • Experience designing and scaling cost-efficient, high-performance ETL/ELT and analytics workloads in cloud environments.
  • Experience building and migrating large-scale batch, CDC, and streaming data pipelines.
  • Experience migrating on-premises or Hadoop-based systems to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience developing and managing lakehouse and warehouse systems, including Delta Lake, data modeling, governance, and BI integration.
  • Production programming experience in SQL and at least one of Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Strong familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role.
  • Ability to meet technical training and role-specific milestones within 6 months of hire.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
