Description

  • Drive new Lakebase revenue by identifying, qualifying, and advancing activations and consumption within a defined territory.
  • Partner with regional Account Executives and account teams to grow adoption across platform, application, and data stakeholders.
  • Lead outcome-based conversations with platform teams, developers, data teams, and central IT on value, governance, cost, and speed.
  • Run complex sales cycles from discovery and value hypothesis through negotiation and close with technical, executive, and business stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate proof-of-value engagements and POCs for OLTP, reverse ETL, and AI/ML-driven workloads.
  • Position Lakebase against legacy and cloud-native operational databases using compete assets, benchmarks, and customer references.
  • Align sales efforts to measurable business outcomes such as performance, developer productivity, time-to-market, cost reduction, and simplification.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partner teams on territory plans, launch plays, and co-selling motions.
  • Enable broader sales teams by sharing Lakebase best practices, success stories, and sales motions.
  • Build internal and external market presence through AMAs, forums, and event participation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience with consistent quota attainment in complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Experience selling data platforms, operational databases such as Postgres or MySQL, cloud-native DBaaS, or adjacent data/AI infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of modern data and application architectures, including cloud-native services, microservices, and event-driven systems.
  • Ability to sell effectively to both technical stakeholders and business stakeholders.
  • Experience leading specialist or overlay motions in partnership with core Account Executives.
  • Executive presence with the ability to whiteboard architectures and lead C-level conversations.
  • Strong value-selling skills, including discovery of pain, business case development, and quantified outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and negotiation skills across large and small audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: Experience selling Postgres, transactional cloud database services, or OLTP workloads in large or strategic accounts.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with data platforms, lakehouse architectures, and cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Preferred: Understanding of reverse ETL, real-time decisioning, and operational analytics use cases.
  • Preferred: Exposure to AI-native and agent-driven applications that rely on low-latency operational data services.
  • Preferred: Experience in a high-growth, category-creating environment.
  • Preferred: Experience collaborating with partners and ISVs on joint pipeline and co-sell motions.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $146,300 to $201,125 USD, depending on pay zone.
