Description

  • Design and implement backend integrations across SaaS platforms, APIs, and internal services.
  • Build and maintain secure, scalable REST APIs.
  • Design and operate event-driven systems, including webhooks, async processing, retries, and idempotency.
  • Implement authentication and authorization flows using OAuth2, JWT, API keys, and HMAC where needed.
  • Handle integration issues such as duplicated events, out-of-order data, and partial failures.
  • Debug and resolve production issues across distributed systems.
  • Ensure strong logging, monitoring, and error handling across backend services.
  • Participate in technical decision-making and engineering trade-offs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with Node.js, including deep understanding of async I/O and event loop behavior.
  • Solid understanding of the HTTP protocol and API design.
  • Proven experience designing and operating webhooks in production, including idempotency, retries, failure recovery, and event deduplication.
  • Experience implementing OAuth2 flows, including authorization code, client credentials, token lifecycle, and refresh tokens.
  • Strong understanding of JWT beyond basic usage, including signing, validation, and security implications.
  • Experience working with production systems under real constraints.
  • Experience with iPaaS platforms such as Mulesoft, Workato, or Boomi is preferred.
  • Experience integrating with ERPs such as NetSuite, SAP, or Business Central is preferred.
  • Experience with queues, background jobs, messaging systems, CI/CD, or high-concurrency environments is preferred.
