Description

  • Own monthly close, reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting across multiple portfolio companies.
  • Manage the general ledger to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Oversee revenue recognition, contract setup, and billing integrations with Stripe and similar platforms.
  • Work at the corporate holding company level while also supporting detailed portfolio company accounting processes.
  • Design and deploy AI agents for A/R, A/P, and general ledger reconciliations to reduce manual work and shorten close cycles.
  • Evaluate and implement automation tools that improve close speed, accuracy, and financial visibility.
  • Support tax compliance activities as needed.
  • Support annual audits and the annual budget process as needed.
  • Backfill portfolio-company accounting positions when needed and provide hands-on coverage.
  • Partner across engineering, finance, and go-to-market teams to improve accounting operations.

Requirements

  • CPA or equivalent experience managing audit processes and ASC 606 compliance.
  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience in PE-backed or high-growth companies.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a financial close process, including leading, improving, and taking full accountability for results.
  • Hands-on AI experience with concrete examples of building automations, deploying agents, or materially accelerating workflows using AI tools.
  • Track record of implementing and optimizing accounting systems, integrations, and workflow automations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, finance, and go-to-market teams.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and high-growth environments where processes must often be built from scratch.
  • Experience with PE-backed or high-growth companies is required; controller-level experience is a plus.
  • Open to either a Senior Manager ready for a Controller seat or an experienced Controller with deep AI expertise.
