Description

  • Extend Auth0-based identity capabilities, including authentication flows, token issuance, and identity federation.
  • Build and maintain the OpenFGA relationship-based access control model that powers platform authorization decisions.
  • Own OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect implementation details, including token flows, JWKS validation, scopes, and audience restrictions.
  • Define authentication and scoped-permission models for AI agents operating alongside human users.
  • Lead cross-functional technical projects from design through production.
  • Set technical direction and quality standards for the Auth team.
  • Review code and technical designs, and mentor engineers through day-to-day collaboration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
  • Experience with ReBAC systems such as OpenFGA, Zanzibar, or SpiceDB, including schema modeling, tuple-based policy testing, and permission-performance analysis.
  • Experience with Auth0 or a comparable identity provider, such as Okta, Azure AD, or Keycloak.
  • Strong backend development skills in Java, Ruby, or Python, using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Rails, or Django.
  • Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, with accountability for reviewing and validating their output.
  • Collaborative approach to technical design and decision-making, with a commitment to an inclusive team environment.
  • Experience building or scaling authorization systems for complex organizational hierarchies or multi-tenant SaaS platforms (preferred).
  • Familiarity with policy-as-code or attribute-based access control (ABAC) (preferred).
  • Ad tech or programmatic advertising experience, or contributions to open-source identity or authorization projects (preferred).
