Description

  • Lead a small team of data engineers to build and manage analytics and production ETL/ELT systems.
  • Design high-volume data ingestion pipelines from diverse data sources.
  • Partner with Data Science, Engineering, and Product on reliable logging and Search data implementation.
  • Ensure data quality, observability, and reliability across the data lifecycle.
  • Optimize data systems for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
  • Define and manage SLAs for data systems.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Support analysis of customer behavior, experiments, and predictive model inputs for Search and Recommendations.

Requirements

  • 8 years of data engineering experience in customer-facing technology companies.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience with distributed processing technologies and frameworks such as Spark, HDFS, or S3.
  • Experience with ETL schedulers such as Airflow, Dagster, or DBT.
  • Experience with massive datasets and optimizing data extraction (preferred).
  • Expertise in experimentation and statistics (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate data concepts clearly to cross-functional teams, including the C-suite (preferred).
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and how model configurations affect outcomes (preferred).
  • Experience in e-commerce and/or search (preferred).

  • Base salary range of $174,000/year to $290,000/year depending on market and experience.
