Description

  • Provide practical, risk-calibrated legal guidance to business leaders and product teams.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Technology teams from development through launch and ongoing operations.
  • Identify legal, regulatory, privacy, and security risks and develop solutions that enable innovation.
  • Review product features, marketing materials, customer communications, and other external content.
  • Enhance privacy, AI governance, and broader compliance programs through scalable policies, training, and resources.
  • Draft and negotiate product partnership agreements, terms of use, and other third-party agreements.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory and Commercial Counsel on cross-functional matters.
  • Create playbooks, FAQs, standard positions, and templates for business and legal teams.
  • Translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear, business-oriented advice.
  • Work primarily during Eastern Standard Time hours.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant legal experience, including commercial and/or product counseling experience.
  • In-house experience at a high-growth B2B technology company preferred.
  • Active license to practice law in the applicable state or province.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Understanding of AI technology and related legal risks.
  • Familiarity with product concepts such as cloud infrastructure, APIs, and open source software.
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements, ideally including the EU AI Act and EU Data Act.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams on novel software, hardware, or climate technology issues.
  • Strong judgment, creativity, prioritization, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage complex initiatives, and adapt to changing priorities and regulations.
