Description

  • Identify and evaluate new program opportunities through due diligence across underwriting, product, legal, and insurance operations.
  • Recommend program structures, including coverage architecture, underwriting guidelines, and rating frameworks for target business classes.
  • Draft Program Assessment Template documents with requirements, participation terms, production expectations, and annual forecasts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to maintain program relationship continuity from inception through ongoing production results.
  • Negotiate, execute, and maintain Program Management Agreements and ensure contractual and service obligations are met.
  • Conduct performance audits and portfolio analyses against established KPIs and recommend underwriting strategy improvements.
  • Partner with the insurance product team on renewal terms and processes for new and existing program opportunities.
  • Drive process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability across program operations.
  • Support partner visits and coordinate communication with agency partners and Counterpart’s service team to resolve policy, billing, and underwriting issues.
  • Prepare and present stewardship review, board meeting, and business update materials, including logistics, agendas, and follow-up.
  • Represent Counterpart at trade conferences and industry events to strengthen relationships and brand presence.
  • Monitor legislative and market developments and recommend coverage enhancements while flagging compliance implications.
  • Use AI-powered tools to improve program analysis, reporting, and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in management and/or professional liability insurance.
  • Experience with program, captive, or alternative risk structures.
  • Demonstrated experience prospecting, underwriting, handling regulatory compliance, and stewarding complex program portfolios with minimal oversight.
  • Experience contributing to program due diligence, structure design, and inception, not just maintaining existing programs.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with actuarial, field underwriting, legal, IT, claims, and other teams.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills and experience working with multi-stakeholder partnerships at senior levels.
  • Comfort operating in a high-velocity, lean, ambiguous environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Enthusiasm for AI-forward workflows and willingness to embed technology into daily work.
  • College degree required.
