Description

  • Lead technical discovery across OT, IT, controls engineering, and security stakeholders in enterprise accounts.
  • Build and execute formal evaluation, pilot, and POC plans with defined milestones, success criteria, and exit criteria.
  • Deliver tailored demos and technical presentations for plant-floor engineers, executives, CISOs, and VP-level stakeholders.
  • Identify technical risks, architecture constraints, and deployment blockers early in the sales cycle.
  • Author technical sections of proposals, RFP responses, and security questionnaires.
  • Develop reusable technical collateral such as reference architectures, deployment guides, objection-handling playbooks, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Guide customers through industrial DevOps and automation workflow modernization using ICLM concepts.
  • Support conversations on ICS security, compliance requirements, OTDR, segmentation, Purdue model architecture, and cloud or hybrid integration constraints.
  • Recommend deployment strategies for single-site pilots and multi-facility enterprise rollouts, and partner with Deployment and Customer Success teams on handoff and implementation success.
  • Provide structured product feedback, mentor future Solutions Engineers, and represent Copia at industry events and customer advisory sessions.

Requirements

  • 8 to 12+ years of experience in industrial automation, OT cybersecurity, industrial software, or technical consulting with direct customer-facing responsibility.
  • 3+ years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales architecture, or technical sales supporting complex enterprise deals with 6 to 18 month cycles.
  • Hands-on or applied experience with major PLC platforms such as Rockwell Logix, Siemens TIA Portal/STEP 7, Schneider, Beckhoff, Fanuc, Emerson, or Omron.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA, HMI, and industrial networking environments in manufacturing or critical infrastructure settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with OT, IT security, controls engineering, and executive stakeholders in the same account.
  • Proven track record supporting evaluation-to-pilot-to-enterprise deployment motions with documented expansion outcomes.
  • Ability to lead technical discovery, design evaluations, and produce deployment architecture recommendations tailored to OT environments and regulatory context.
  • Comfort speaking to NIS2, NERC CIP, IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 in customer conversations.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate OT engineering concepts into business and compliance language.
  • Experience maintaining detailed CRM records in HubSpot, including discovery notes, stakeholder maps, technical risk logs, and deal progression.
  • Former controls engineer or automation system integrator background (preferred).
  • Experience with Git, version control systems, or software configuration management (preferred).
  • Certifications such as GICSP, CSSA, or similar OT security credentials (preferred).
  • Industrial networking or security architecture experience including firewall policy, DMZ design, and VPN in OT contexts (preferred).
  • Existing relationships in industrial automation, OT security, or critical infrastructure communities (preferred).
  • Experience with land-and-expand enterprise sales motions at growth-stage companies (preferred).
