Description

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services that power CookUnity’s personalization systems.
  • Define and drive architectural improvements that enhance reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Product and Data teams to deliver tailored user content and experiences.
  • Mentor and guide engineers while setting a high standard for technical excellence and ownership.
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and AI tools to improve the backend stack and development velocity.
  • Improve system observability, performance, and resilience for revenue-critical systems.
  • Write clean, well-tested, efficient code as a hands-on contributor.
  • Lead technical planning and project execution from concept through on-time delivery.
  • Work on the Server-Driven UI service within the Backend-for-Frontend architecture and maintain backend services and databases.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in full stack or backend software development.
  • Experience with React, Kotlin, TypeScript, and SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Proven experience architecting and scaling complex backend systems in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven architecture.
  • Deep understanding of performance and scalability best practices.
  • Ability to translate complex, ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable plans.
  • Advanced English communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and guiding engineers.
  • Fluency with AI engineering tools.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS is preferred.
  • Experience with React Native is preferred.
