Description

  • Own the month-end close process, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation, with a target of fewer than 10 business days.
  • Oversee general ledger management, net asset and fund accounting, revenue recognition, chart of accounts, and functional expense allocation.
  • Execute treasury operations, including cash positioning, bank transfers, payroll and benefits payments, positive pay, and fraud-prevention controls.
  • Oversee tax compliance, state registrations, sales and use taxes, employment taxes, audits, Form 990 support, debt covenants, grants, and donor reporting.
  • Manage vendor operations, including 1099 processing and AP/AR system administration.
  • Lead and develop two direct reports while reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and AP/AR processes.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and ad hoc analyses for the VP of Finance and Accounting.
  • Support budgeting, procurement, system implementations, cash forecasting, banking, and internal control development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 or more years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or a comparable ERP system preferred.
  • Experience with multiple revenue streams, such as SaaS, professional services, grants, or manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience, including grant compliance, restricted funds, and audit support, preferred.
  • Edtech, online publishing, or software industry experience preferred.
  • Strong time-management, interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Must be based in the United States and available to work from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
  • Comfort working for extended periods at a desk and computer.
