Description

  • Build and run experiments that drive growth for Coinbase’s retail products.
  • Design scalable backend systems using modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
  • Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and the teams that support them.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn technical vision into quarterly roadmaps.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.
  • Develop features, products, and systems that support user acquisition, engagement, retention, and onboarding.
  • Build resilient and scalable infrastructure that enables rapid iteration and growth at scale.
  • Work across the stack as needed, including web, mobile, backend, data, and ML.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
  • Experience composing a service-oriented architecture.
  • Strong ability to write high-quality, well-tested code.
  • Passion for building an open financial system.
  • Experience launching new products from 0 to 1 (preferred).
  • Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks (preferred).
  • Experience with blockchain technology such as Bitcoin or Ethereum (preferred).
  • Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB (preferred).
  • Experience building fintech, highly reliable, or secure systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, or engaging with dApps (preferred).

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $186,065 to $218,900 USD, depending on location.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
