Description

  • Build and run experiments that support the growth of Coinbase’s retail products.
  • Design scalable systems to solve novel problems using modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
  • Define and communicate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and the teams that operate them.
  • Partner with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn technical and product vision into quarterly roadmaps.
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.
  • Rapidly launch, iterate, and optimize new and existing features and products to drive growth.
  • Build resilient and scalable systems that enable faster feature development and iteration at scale.
  • Work across the stack, including web, mobile, backend, data, and machine learning.
  • Invest in tools, systems, and processes that improve execution speed and reduce organizational barriers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services.
  • Knowledge of how to compose a service-oriented architecture.
  • Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code.
  • Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.
  • Experience launching new products from 0 to 1 is preferred.
  • Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience with blockchain technology such as Bitcoin or Ethereum is preferred.
  • Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB is preferred.
  • Experience building fintech, highly reliable, or secure systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with crypto-forward onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, or using dApps is preferred.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $186,065 to $218,900 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
