Description

  • Lead a team of threat intelligence engineers and build a culture focused on disrupting and deflecting threat actors.
  • Set long-term and day-to-day strategy and operating cadence for the Threat Intelligence and Threat Research teams.
  • Partner with Security Operations, Information Security, and business leaders to identify intelligence requirements.
  • Define and implement processes for collecting, prioritizing, and processing intelligence from internal and external sources.
  • Own supplier-provided intelligence providers and tools, including accountability for their effectiveness.
  • Deliver timely threat briefings and reporting on adversary capabilities, intent, and activity to stakeholders.
  • Establish technical workflows to prioritize intelligence work and deploy analysis or disruption initiatives.
  • Participate in crypto and community engagements to benchmark capabilities and improve cyber and blockchain intelligence maturity.
  • Use AI across intelligence workflows, from collection and dissemination to actionable intelligence generation.
  • Define services and measurements such as gearing ratio, KPI, and KRI, and support governance, procedures, and controls.
  • Lead external intelligence-sharing community engagements such as FS-ISAC, Crypto ISAC, and SEAL ISAC.
  • Mentor, manage, and evaluate assigned personnel, including goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating disruptive threat intelligence technologies and services.
  • Deep understanding of the threat intelligence lifecycle and investigations.
  • Experience mentoring highly technical threat intelligence analysts and supporting their professional growth.
  • Current knowledge of threat actors, TTPs, and motivations targeting FinTech or crypto environments.
  • Experience leveraging AI agents for threat analysis, adversary trend analysis, and proactive disruption strategies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, IT, and security stakeholders to design and implement intelligence technologies and services.
  • Awareness of legal, regulatory, and ethical considerations when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to translate complex problems into practical, preferably automated, solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including briefing leadership and training others.
  • Strong team orientation, with comfort working as either a novice or an expert and high empathy in collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows.
  • Preferred: a strong network of intelligence resources and assets that can contribute to Coinbase's intelligence ecosystem.
  • Preferred: working or strong understanding of blockchain and other crypto technologies.
  • Preferred: experience in incident response, risk management, counterintelligence, fraud detection, intellectual property theft, access and identity management, or IT engineering.

Benefits

  • Target annual base salary of $243,865 to $286,900 USD, depending on work location.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
