Description

  • Lead and grow a team of engineers across backend, frontend, and site reliability functions through hiring, coaching, and career development.
  • Drive roadmap execution across the Foundations, Users Platformization, and Settings & Account Management sub-teams.
  • Own reliability and operational excellence for 8+ mission-critical Tier-0/Tier-1 services, including high-availability incident response.
  • Represent the team to internal product groups and cross-functional partners in Security, Risk, Compliance, and Design.
  • Partner with Product and the Tech Lead to define strategic roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and translate constraints into scalable platform solutions.
  • Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, engineering standards, and reusable platform capabilities.
  • Reduce new product team onboarding time by delivering strong APIs, documentation, and integration support.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in engineering management.
  • Experience leading teams of 5+ engineers.
  • Proven track record shipping large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users in production.
  • Technical fluency in coding, system design, API architecture, and reliability tradeoffs.
  • Ability to be hands-on when needed, including writing and reviewing code, leading incidents, and triaging bugs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build organizational alignment and represent the team to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience building and scaling high-performing engineering teams through hiring, development, and promotion.
  • Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots such as LibreChat, Gemini, and Glean in daily workflows.
  • Experience in identity, authentication, authorization, or account management systems is preferred.
  • Prior experience leading a platform team or a similar domain with high internal customer dependency is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Go, gRPC, React, SpiceDB, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and Datadog is preferred.
  • Background building financial, high-reliability, or security systems is preferred.

  • Annual base salary range of $218,025 to $256,500 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
  • Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
