Description

  • Lead the Transaction Platform engineering squad through the full development lifecycle for the banking core modernization program.
  • Own the technical roadmap for real-time event replication, streaming transaction aggregation, reconciliation infrastructure, account provider integration, and transaction enrichment.
  • Set technical direction for the team and contribute to architecture and design decisions.
  • Serve as the primary interface for partner teams including consumer banking, investments, payments, core banking, and external partner systems.
  • Translate company OKRs into campaign and sprint objectives and drive structured planning and delivery.
  • Identify, mitigate, and escalate technical and delivery risks as needed.
  • Build team capability by supporting hiring, defining assessment criteria, and growing engineering depth.
  • Coach engineers through performance feedback, growth planning, and career development.
  • Maintain close architectural alignment with Account Services and ensure cross-team dependencies are managed proactively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a technical field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, mission-critical distributed systems.
  • 4+ years of engineering management experience leading senior individual contributors and tech leads.
  • Experience building or scaling infrastructure that serves multiple product teams.
  • Strong technical depth in event-driven systems, streaming pipelines, API design, and complex data models.
  • Proven cross-functional execution experience in ambiguous, multi-team environments.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineering talent.
  • Willingness to work closely in the details and hold a high standard for execution.
  • Strong ownership mindset with experience driving programs from inception through delivery.
  • Preferred: familiarity with banking core systems such as Thought Machine, Mambu, or similar cloud-native cores.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with event streaming or real-time data tools such as Kinesis, Kafka, or Apache Flink.
  • Preferred: exposure to core migration or large-scale platform modernization programs.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of financial data models, account/transaction APIs, or payment rails such as ACH and Wire.
  • Preferred: experience in a regulated fintech or banking environment.
  • Preferred: background in Kotlin/Java Spring Boot or similar JVM-based backend systems.
