Description

  • Oversee Canada’s financial and regulatory reporting functions to ensure accurate and effective execution.
  • Own the parallel books of account maintained under IFRS and manage reconciliations and supporting documentation for adjustments.
  • Lead end-to-end preparation, review, and coordination of recurring regulatory filings.
  • Prepare and coordinate financial statements, regulatory submissions, and other materials for external stakeholders and regulators.
  • Produce monthly management reporting for Coinbase Canada and provide analytical review and Board reporting.
  • Serve as the internal contact for financial reporting questions and inquiries from regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare and update finance policies and procedures.
  • Monitor outsourced finance service providers and assess performance against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Support Coinbase Canada liquidity management in close coordination with the treasury team.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects such as vendor transitions, integrations, automation, and process enhancements.
  • Support ad hoc financial information requests, analyses, and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in regulatory reporting or finance at a bank, fintech, financial regulatory agency, securities dealer, investment dealer, or professional services firm serving financial institutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in a regulated environment with direct involvement in preparing or reviewing securities regulator filings.
  • Experience communicating directly with boards or senior management, or demonstrated ability to do so.
  • CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • Experience collaborating across business functions, especially senior management, with a track record in a management role.
  • Project management experience is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards and strong time management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with IFRS.
  • Expert knowledge of Canadian securities regulatory reporting requirements, including NI 31-103 and Form 31-103F1, with familiarity with CIRO capital adequacy rules highly preferred.
  • Experience interacting directly with securities regulators or supporting regulatory examinations and inquiries.
  • Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows and apply human-in-the-loop practices.
  • Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, and Google Suite is a nice to have.
  • Experience with CIRO Form 1 or similar dealer capital adequacy filings is a nice to have.
  • Basic knowledge of digital assets and the crypto economy, or a desire to learn, is a nice to have.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and experience with Snowflake, Looker, or similar analytics tools is a nice to have.

  • Target annual base salary of CAD $170,000.
