Description

  • Lead business analysis activities for insurance data platforms, including defining business rules, financial logic, and data requirements for reporting and analytics.
  • Perform data profiling, source analysis, and data quality assessments to support improved ingestion and transformation processes.
  • Design and validate conceptual and logical data models for reporting, reconciliation, historical analysis, API enablement, and self-service analytics.
  • Collaborate with business, BI, and platform teams to define semantic layers, KPIs, and data products.
  • Support migration from legacy reporting solutions to Databricks and Power BI-based analytics platforms.
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams on ETL/ELT and transformation logic.
  • Support API-driven data services and low-latency data consumption use cases.
  • Enable enterprise reporting and self-service analytics initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst working with enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong experience in the insurance industry, including policy, claims, underwriting, customer, billing, or payments data.
  • Hands-on experience with data profiling, source analysis, reconciliation, and data quality assessments.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience defining business rules, KPIs, semantic layers, and analytics requirements.
  • Experience with SQL and close collaboration with Data Engineering teams on ETL/ELT and transformation logic.
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Lakehouse architectures, and modern cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting API-driven data services and designing data for low-latency consumption.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with dbt and modern data transformation frameworks, preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure, preferred.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data migration and modernization initiatives, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, preferred.
  • Experience enabling self-service analytics and enterprise reporting solutions, preferred.
