Description

  • Own end-to-end design, implementation, deployment, and iteration of scanning engine components.
  • Build and maintain well-tested, observable services in Python and Go.
  • Improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and SLA compliance of distributed scanning workloads.
  • Translate security, detection, and scanning requirements into production-ready systems and APIs.
  • Establish code quality, secure coding, design documentation, and review standards.
  • Contribute to scanning platform architecture and roadmap decisions.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues involving scanning performance, accuracy, and stability.
  • Mentor engineers through design feedback, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Senior Software Engineer experience developing backend or systems-level services.
  • Proficiency in Python or Go, with willingness to work in both languages.
  • Experience designing distributed or highly available services, including scalability, reliability, and observability.
  • Experience building scanning, detection, vulnerability assessment, data processing, or similar high-throughput systems.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with cloud-native environments, including microservices, containers, CI/CD, monitoring, and logging.
  • Ability to collaborate across product, security, data, and infrastructure teams and communicate technical tradeoffs.
  • Track record of owning projects from problem definition through rollout and iteration.
  • Experience with testing, static analysis, code reviews, and maintainable software practices.
  • Cybersecurity domain knowledge, particularly endpoint scanning, is preferred.

  • Base salary of $149,600–$199,600 in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.
  • Base salary of $134,600–$184,600 in other Canadian locations.
