Description

  • Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and platform infrastructure.
  • Own systems from architecture and implementation through deployment, observability, debugging, and iteration.
  • Build infrastructure for high-volume AI, media, attribution, search, retrieval, and enterprise workloads.
  • Productionize experimental models and algorithms with the AI research team.
  • Develop MLOps capabilities for model deployment, inference, versioning, evaluation, monitoring, and reproducibility.
  • Own DevOps and cloud infrastructure, including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, containers, orchestration, security, observability, and reliability.
  • Build enterprise capabilities such as authentication, RBAC, multi-tenancy, auditability, integrations, and configurable workflows.
  • Make architecture decisions involving databases, queues, caching, distributed systems, compute, storage, networking, reliability, and cost.
  • Collaborate with Product, customers, and AI partners to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Build internal tooling and automation to improve engineering and research productivity.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in backend and platform engineering, with ability to work across the stack.
  • Proven experience designing, building, deploying, and operating production systems.
  • High proficiency in a modern backend language and extensive experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of databases, networking, concurrency, APIs, distributed systems, queues, caching, cloud infrastructure, and failure modes.
  • Strong cloud, DevOps, and production infrastructure experience.
  • Working knowledge of model serving, GPU workloads, inference, data pipelines, embeddings, evaluation, and MLOps.
  • Practical use of AI coding agents, agentic frameworks, AI-assisted debugging, automated testing, and related workflows.
  • Experience working independently in fast-moving startup environments with significant ownership and ambiguity.
  • Preferred experience with Python, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases, Meilisearch, vector search, distributed processing, GPU infrastructure, enterprise SaaS, developer APIs/SDKs, TypeScript/React, or large-scale audio and media systems.
