Description

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for a select group of complex, high-scale global enterprise customers.
  • Act as the bridge between customer engineering teams and Cloudflare’s product portfolio and roadmap.
  • Translate customer business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead timely and organized customer onboarding and help customers realize the full value of Cloudflare’s products.
  • Advise customers on technical best practices and provide proactive technical guidance across the product suite.
  • Partner with Customer Success Managers on regional account coverage and book-of-business support.
  • Support customer retention and expansion through relationship building and periodic account reviews.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support, Engineering, and other internal teams to resolve technical escalations.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing customer accounts.
  • Contribute to internal and external documentation, technical Q&A, and best-practice iteration.
  • Travel 20-40% for customer meetings, conferences, industry events, and internal collaboration.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of prior experience in technical post-sales roles in cybersecurity or internet technology.
  • Fluency in both German and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable degree in IT is highly desirable; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of how the internet works, including OSI layers and protocols such as TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, and HTTP.
  • Knowledge of reverse and forward proxies and their applications.
  • Understanding of security concepts such as firewalls, WAFs, bot management, rate limiting, (m)TLS, and Zero Trust.
  • Understanding of performance topics such as speed, latency, caching, video streaming, HTTP/2, and TLSv1.3.
  • Demonstrated experience with a scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
  • Ability to manage projects, work to deadlines, and prioritize competing demands.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2 is a plus.
  • Technical curiosity and a passion for staying current with Cloudflare products and internet industry trends.
