Description

  • Turn the art team's vision into shippable, scalable rendering technology.
  • Build and improve high-performance rendering features across PC, console, and Mac.
  • Profile and resolve GPU and CPU bottlenecks, including occupancy, tile memory pressure, indirect dispatch overhead, and bandwidth issues.
  • Work with modern rendering pipeline techniques such as GPU-driven culling, indirect command buffers, and bindless architectures.
  • Contribute to GPU memory management using modern API features and memory heaps.
  • Extend major engines, including Unreal Engine source, and custom C++ architectures.
  • Write low-level engine code against DirectX 12, Vulkan, and Metal in proprietary codebases.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in rendering or engine engineering, with shipped rendering systems for AAA, film/VFX, XR, or simulation.
  • Solid experience with modern C++.
  • Confident shader authoring and debugging experience in HLSL, MSL, or GLSL.
  • Production experience with one of Metal, DirectX 12, Vulkan, or GNM/GNMX, with interest in learning others.
  • Working knowledge of rasterization, compute, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
  • Familiarity with PBR, GI, ambient occlusion, volumetrics, and post-processing techniques such as AA, HDR, tone mapping, and motion blur.
  • Comfort dropping into unfamiliar codebases and making sound technical decisions.
  • Solid applied 3D math skills and the ability to produce clear technical writing.
  • Practical experience with mesh shading pipelines in DX12, Vulkan, or Metal is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with modern hardware variations, including console and Apple Silicon unified memory architectures is a bonus.
  • Exposure to ray tracing or compute-driven rendering is a bonus.
  • Experience modifying Unreal Engine source is a bonus.
