Description

  • Own an integration end to end, including design, implementation, and the production system after launch.
  • Define the architecture for auth and identity flows, multi-tenancy, data movement, performance, and production behavior.
  • Run and support the system you build, including on-call ownership, infrastructure, CI, deployment, and observability.
  • Build on top of external partner platforms and manage risks within their constraints and trust boundaries.
  • Partner with internal engineering teams to define interfaces, align dependencies, and keep work moving.
  • Set the technical direction and defaults that a growing team will inherit.
  • Write design documents and other technical proposals that shape team decisions.
  • Communicate clearly about what risks are owned internally versus by external platforms.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with substantial experience in data-heavy or integration-oriented systems.
  • Strong backend and systems thinking, including the ability to reason about deployment topology, multi-tenancy, and data movement.
  • Experience with modern auth protocols, service principals, and identity federation across trust boundaries.
  • Experience building on someone else's platform, including dealing with incomplete documentation and breaking changes.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity, shipping before specs are complete, and making sound tradeoffs under uncertainty.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers and earn trust across teams you do not own.
  • Primarily a backend engineer, with enough JavaScript / TypeScript to contribute when needed.
  • Comfort using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, and being clear about when they were used.
  • Strong written communication skills for design docs, PRs, and RFCs.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with a major cloud data or analytics platform ecosystem.
  • Nice to have: deep experience in auth, identity federation, or partner marketplace/certification processes.
  • Nice to have: experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms and their isolation/deployment topologies.
  • Nice to have: working knowledge of ClickHouse or another columnar/OLAP engine.
