Description

  • Define the target architecture for the new AWS platform, including the evolution from monolith to modular services and APIs.
  • Plan and lead the legacy modernization roadmap, including decomposition, migration, and coexistence strategies.
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, guidelines, guardrails, and review processes.
  • Ensure cloud solutions maximize AWS capabilities for availability, resilience, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive engineering excellence through testing, CI/CD, automation, observability, SRE, and resilience practices.
  • Provide technical direction, mentoring, and feedback to architects and tech leads.
  • Partner with product, business, technology, and security stakeholders to translate goals into architectural decisions.
  • Identify technical risks and define mitigation strategies to support platform evolution and scale.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in software engineering as a Solutions Architect or Systems Architect in complex environments with multiple teams and systems.
  • Proven experience modernizing legacy systems into distributed, modular architectures.
  • Experience defining target architecture and migration roadmaps, including patterns such as strangler pattern, split by domain/subdomain, and anti-corruption layer.
  • Practical experience with AWS cloud architecture and best practices for high availability, resilience, scalability, and FinOps.
  • Experience designing service- and API-oriented platforms, preferably using DDD and exposing capabilities for other products, partners, and whitelabels.
  • Experience with architecture governance, standards definition, principles, guidelines, and review processes.
  • Experience participating in architecture forums and organizational-level technical decision-making.
  • Knowledge of engineering best practices including code quality, tests, CI/CD, observability, and SRE.
  • Knowledge of resilience techniques and tools such as circuit breaker, timeout, retry, and bulkhead.
  • Experience working across product, engineering, operations, and security in scaled agile environments.
  • Preferred: experience with B2B/B2B2C, whitelabel, or multi-tenant platforms.
  • Preferred: experience with FinOps or continuous AWS cost optimization.
  • Preferred: experience with event-driven architecture, streaming, or CDC.
  • Preferred: experience with architecture boards, tech radars, and recurring design reviews.
  • Preferred: experience leading architects and tech leads with mentoring and career development.
  • Preferred: ability to communicate complex solutions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred: ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across functions.
  • Preferred: ability to influence strategic decisions using data, risks, and architectural trade-offs.
