Description

  • Design, build, and evolve Data Lake and Data Lakehouse architectures with scalability, resilience, and performance in mind.
  • Define the reference architecture for the data platform in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Purview, and Azure AI Foundry.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and standards for the company’s data stack.
  • Ensure data security, partitioning, versioning, and Medallion Architecture best practices are adopted across the platform.
  • Plan and oversee ELT/ETL pipeline development for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
  • Define integration strategies across multiple data sources, including legacy systems, APIs, relational and non-relational databases, SaaS, and IoT.
  • Implement and promote pipeline acceleration frameworks such as Databricks and/or Snowflake.
  • Ensure pipeline observability and monitoring using DataOps practices.
  • Define and apply advanced data modeling standards, including dimensional, relational, and Data Vault 2.0 approaches.
  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics and promote standardized data contracts between producers and consumers.
  • Define and implement the organization’s data governance framework, including cataloging, classification, lineage, and access policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Data Engineering team while fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct technical rituals such as code reviews, design reviews, and architecture decision records (ADRs).
  • Translate business needs into technical architecture requirements and act as a bridge between technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with AI teams on data preparation and machine learning pipeline construction, including support for MLOps and feature engineering.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in Data Architecture and Data Engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse architectures in cloud environments.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and Event Hub.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Purview.
  • Advanced knowledge of data modeling, including dimensional, relational, and Data Vault approaches.
  • Experience building large-scale ELT/ETL pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data governance and frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills with stakeholders at different levels.
  • Advanced SQL skills and programming experience with Python or Scala.
  • Knowledge of DataOps, CI/CD for data, and version control tools such as dbt and Git.
  • Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Azure AI Foundry and the generative AI ecosystem is a plus.
  • Experience with machine learning pipelines and MLOps is a plus.
  • Microsoft certifications such as DP-900, DP-203, DP-600 (Fabric), or equivalent are a plus.
