Description

  • Design, build, and evolve shared backend services and public APIs.
  • Own features end to end from technical design through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
  • Create technical design documents and drive implementation plans.
  • Partner with Product Management and Experience teams to deliver customer-facing functionality.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning, prioritization, tradeoffs, and iterative releases.
  • Ensure services are reliable, observable, and effective across products and customer segments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building production backend services and APIs in modern cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in Go or the ability to ramp up quickly; the team develops in Go.
  • Experience designing and evolving externally and internally consumed public APIs, including versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, and usability.
  • Familiarity with microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience building observable and resilient production services.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with product managers, designers, and engineers.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote startup environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Experience building platform or shared services across multiple products or customer experiences (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud-native, container, security, or broader CNCF tools (preferred).
  • Meaningful open source contributions, including maintenance or regular contributions to relevant projects (preferred).

  • Base salary range of $157,000–$184,000 USD.
