Description

  • Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs.
  • Own features end to end, from design and implementation through rollout and iteration.
  • Create technical design documents and drive implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Experience teams to deliver customer-facing features.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning, prioritization, tradeoff decisions, and iterative delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building production services and APIs in modern cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in Go or the ability to ramp up quickly; Chainguard develops its services in Go.
  • Experience designing and evolving externally and internally consumed public APIs, including versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, and usability.
  • Familiarity with microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience building observable and resilient production services.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with product managers, designers, and engineers across product lines.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote startup environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Experience building platform or shared services across multiple products or customer experiences preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-native, container, security, or CNCF technologies preferred.
  • Meaningful open source contributions, particularly as a maintainer or regular contributor, preferred.
