Description

  • Manage the movement of vehicles into and out of the Inspection Center safely for repairs while meeting production and quality goals.
  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly inventory production targets.
  • Oversee day-to-day team activities and identify strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
  • Coach, develop, and manage performance for hourly associates on the assigned team.
  • Create a positive team environment that supports communication, cohesion, and Carvana’s values.
  • Communicate expectations, performance measures, and goals clearly to team members.
  • Prevent and resolve conflict among team members.
  • Monitor adherence to systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Review and approve mechanical and physical defects on incoming inventory.
  • Partner with the Inspection Center General Manager to decide whether inventory should be repaired or rejected based on repair cost and vehicle quality.
  • Train production associates to use quality control standards and complete repairs correctly the first time.
  • Help minimize re-checks, re-work, and production delays.
  • Work safely and reduce the risk of injury in the shop environment.
  • Effectively manage multiple associates and delegate tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience using computers.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrated functional expertise in one or more areas of Carvana’s reconditioning process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current reconditioning processes and lean principles.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to work in environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, or contain fumes or odors from vehicle maintenance.
  • Use of required safety equipment such as face shields or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective gear.
  • Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks and communicate professionally, clearly, and concisely.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and resolve complex issues with guidance.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and variable schedules as needed.
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
  • Role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
