Description

  • Manage backend engineering teams, including engineering managers and individual contributor technical leads.
  • Oversee execution, architecture, and people development within the backend organization.
  • Design and maintain backend services that power merchant and payments provider integrations globally.
  • Drive efficiency across the team for accurate costing and delivery of initiatives.
  • Help maintain a low-tech-debt, highly innovative engineering organization.
  • Coach and mentor technical leads and engineering managers.
  • Support the scaling of reliable, high-availability backend systems for payments.
  • Contribute to the expansion of DEUNA’s payments platform in new markets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience building backend systems at scale, ideally in fintech and payments.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams and developing individuals successfully.
  • Background delivering high-availability, reliable systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Passion for self-development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in a highly AI-focused engineering environment (implied by role context).
  • Experience with backend architecture and execution leadership.
  • Prior experience in a startup or fast-growing environment is preferred.
