Description

  • Analyze, interpret, and project quarterly and annual financial plan data for reporting.
  • Prepare monthly budget monitoring reports for Budget Committee review, including expense ratio analysis for Management Company functions.
  • Maintain the flow of budget requests and budget deviation materials from Service Centers to Home Office personnel.
  • Assess the current-year financial statement impact of special project submissions and monitor spending on approved projects.
  • Communicate regularly with Service Center Accounting Managers, Budget Representatives, and Home Office Accounting personnel on budget, coding, accounting entries, and procedures.
  • Handle technical matters in the Excel-based budgeting tool, develop procedures, and resolve questions and issues from Budget Representatives.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reporting deliverables and ensure timely compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Actuarial, Product, and Distribution teams.
  • Provide analysis and insights that inform senior leadership decisions.
  • Progressively take ownership of more complex FP&A deliverables and recurring reporting cycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in finance, actuarial, pricing, or analytical roles involving financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Upper Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency.
  • Availability to work according to Pacific Standard Time (PST).
  • Preferred experience in the insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with growing autonomy in financial reporting and modeling.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting insights to semi-senior and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while taking increasing ownership of deliverables.
  • Commitment to maintaining a high standard of output due to senior management visibility.
  • Understanding of insurance industry metrics such as Premium, Loss Ratio, Expense Ratio, Conversion, and Renewal Rates is a plus.
  • Interest in automation, data management, or AI applications in finance is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, charts, and scenario analysis.
  • Intermediate SQL experience with tools such as SAS, MySQL, or Microsoft Access.
  • Intermediate Power BI skills.
  • SAP Analytics Cloud experience is preferred.
