Description

  • Support and grow web engineers by coaching, mentoring, and helping them do valuable work.
  • Contribute directly to team goals while providing technical leadership.
  • Estimate work, set goals, and deliver against schedules.
  • Design and implement well-tested, well-documented software using web technologies or Flutter.
  • Debug and fix issues experienced by users.
  • Participate in code reviews and architectural reviews.
  • Collaborate with product managers, community members, and engineering colleagues on technical specifications.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and improve engineering and operations practices.
  • Deploy and operate services developed by the team.
  • Advocate for the product through technical leadership and execution.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and passion for web and software development.
  • Strong soft skills, including being thoughtful, enterprising, self-motivated, and well-organized.
  • Exceptional academic performance from high school and university.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a STEM field, or a compelling alternative background.
  • Experience designing and writing high-quality web technologies.
  • Experience with and passion for TypeScript, React, or Flutter.
  • Attention to accessibility and performance.
  • Professional written and spoken English.
  • Experience with Linux, with Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and accountability skills.
  • Ability to travel twice a year for company events, for up to two weeks each.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with container technologies such as LXD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Nice-to-have: experience building and maintaining a talented team.
  • Nice-to-have: REST API design, development, and governance experience.
  • Nice-to-have: performance engineering and security experience.
