Description

Support and grow web engineers by coaching, mentoring, and helping them do valuable work.
Contribute directly to team goals while providing technical leadership.
Estimate work, set goals, and deliver against schedules.
Design and implement well-tested, well-documented software using web technologies or Flutter.
Debug and fix issues experienced by users.
Participate in code reviews and architectural reviews.
Collaborate with product managers, community members, and engineering colleagues on technical specifications.
Contribute to technical documentation and improve engineering and operations practices.
Deploy and operate services developed by the team.
Advocate for the product through technical leadership and execution.

Requirements

Knowledge and passion for web and software development.
Strong soft skills, including being thoughtful, enterprising, self-motivated, and well-organized.
Exceptional academic performance from high school and university.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a STEM field, or a compelling alternative background.
Experience designing and writing high-quality web technologies.
Experience with and passion for TypeScript, React, or Flutter.
Attention to accessibility and performance.
Professional written and spoken English.
Experience with Linux, with Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and accountability skills.
Ability to travel twice a year for company events, for up to two weeks each.
Nice-to-have: experience with container technologies such as LXD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Nice-to-have: experience building and maintaining a talented team.
Nice-to-have: REST API design, development, and governance experience.
Nice-to-have: performance engineering and security experience.
