Description

  • Build, develop, and mentor a team of software engineers.
  • Own engineers’ career growth through feedback, development planning, and promotion advocacy.
  • Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to define data models, system boundaries, and integrations.
  • Facilitate execution of the technical roadmap through data-driven, iterative product development.
  • Translate business goals into technical architecture, requirements, scopes, and timelines.
  • Guide scalable, stable, efficient, maintainable, and extensible technical solutions.
  • Drive progress and clarify ownership or system boundaries amid ambiguity.
  • Lead organization-wide initiatives that improve engineering outcomes.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of software development experience and 3+ years managing engineers as a primary responsibility.
  • Experience navigating organizational change, evolving priorities, and ambiguous requirements.
  • Experience managing teams across a cloud-based technology stack; AWS preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience working asynchronously and remotely.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and remove obstacles for engineering teams.
  • Passion for developing engineers across a broad range of professional skills.
  • Ability to balance rapid proof-of-concept delivery with robust, long-term systems.
  • Experience driving organization-wide engineering improvement initiatives.
  • Experience at an earlier-stage or scale-up company preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

  • Base salary of $180,000–$220,000 plus annual bonus incentive.
