Description

  • Oversee day-to-day administration and analysis of employee benefit plans, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA/HRA, and retirement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state benefits regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA privacy and security, and FMLA.
  • Analyze benefits utilization data to identify trends, recommend plan enhancements, and support cost-saving strategies and competitiveness.
  • Maintain relationships with insurance carriers, consultants, brokers, and third-party administrators to ensure service quality and contract adherence.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for complex employee benefits inquiries and provide guidance to employees and leadership.
  • Develop communication and education programs that improve employee understanding and use of benefits.
  • Lead and participate in benefits-related projects such as open enrollment, mergers and acquisitions transitions, and plan implementations.
  • Contribute to process documentation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare compliance and regulatory reports, including 5500s and ACA reports.
  • Conduct audits of benefit plans and documentation and reconcile departmental billing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in employee benefits administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience at the benefits analyst level.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs and related federal and state regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Ability to work in the United States; Chicago, IL office preference.
  • Must be able to complete mandatory training and comply with internal policies and the Code of Conduct.
