Description

Build and own the shared AI infrastructure, including retrieval, grounding, evaluation, observability, and reusable services and patterns.
Work across product teams to turn the AI foundation into capabilities used in production.
Define and measure platform quality and trust to catch regressions before customers do.
Lead the lifecycle of LLM and ML work streams with AI and data engineering partners.
Make build-vs-buy and train-vs-fine-tune-vs-RAG decisions for AI solutions.
Prototype hands-on to explore, de-risk, and validate product direction.
Expand internal automation as the platform matures.
Document learnings so future teams can build from a stronger foundation.

Requirements

Experience productizing AI, not just adding AI features.
Strong systems thinking, pattern recognition, and ability to simplify complex systems.
Experience building platform or infrastructure foundations that other teams build on.
Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive adoption without direct ownership.
Track record of shipping products from idea to production and iterating based on usage.
Ability to define, measure, and defend quality/evaluation criteria for AI systems.
Comfort working with AI engineers on models, agents, and trade-offs.
Coachability and openness to feedback.
Experience with RAG and evaluation in practice (preferred/required in context).
Ability to prototype hands-on to de-risk direction; MLOps ownership is not required.

Benefits

Target salary of $180,000-$220,000.
Eligibility for a $12,000 annual bonus.
Flexible working location: 100% remote within the U.S. or hybrid from Boulder, Colorado.
