Description

  • Maintain and evolve Kubernetes-based AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK, Helm, and kubectl.
  • Build and improve CI/CD deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions.
  • Write and ship production code for infrastructure, internal tools, and application services, including instrumentation, health checks, and performance fixes.
  • Own observability in New Relic, including dashboards, alerting, and SLOs for critical payment flows.
  • Operate and scale managed messaging and database services, including CloudAMQP, MongoDB Atlas, and PostgreSQL.
  • Manage secrets, identity infrastructure, and access controls.
  • Design and test high-availability, backup, and disaster-recovery capabilities; lead incident response and postmortems.
  • Optimize AWS cost and performance.
  • Partner with engineering and compliance teams on security controls, audit evidence, and readiness.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles.
  • Strong production software engineering experience in a general-purpose language, ideally Java or Kotlin.
  • Experience operating production systems on AWS.
  • Proficiency running Kubernetes in production.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, including AWS CDK, Terraform, or similar tools, and Helm.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with observability tools such as New Relic.
  • Security-first approach to least-privilege access, secrets management, and network security.
  • Comfort participating in on-call rotations, incident response, and a high-autonomy remote startup environment.
  • Professional English, clear asynchronous written communication, and at least 4 hours of overlap with US Eastern time.
  • Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools, with accountability for reviewing and testing all changes.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, regulated environments, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 audits, Spring Boot, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, or IAM systems such as Keycloak (preferred).
  • Authorization to work in country of residence; visa sponsorship is not available.
