Description

  • Design, build, and maintain ledger and treasury services using Kotlin and Spring Boot.
  • Model money movement with double-entry accounting, including returns, reversals, fees, and FX.
  • Build reconciliation across the ledger, bank statements, and on-chain wallet balances.
  • Ensure systems are idempotent and resilient to retries, partial failures, and delayed transactions.
  • Maintain immutable audit trails for finance, compliance, and external audits.
  • Build data and tooling for liquidity management across rails and currencies.
  • Model yield-bearing and financing instruments in the ledger.
  • Reduce manual reconciliation work and improve visibility into balances and liquidity positions.
  • Write thorough tests and review teammates’ code.
  • Collaborate with finance, compliance, and payment operations teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional back-end development experience.
  • Experience building ledgers, accounting systems, or other systems where monetary correctness is critical.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry accounting, including debits, credits, balances, and reconciliation.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin or Java and relational databases such as Postgres.
  • Experience with exact decimal arithmetic, idempotency, and consistency in distributed systems.
  • Experience with message-driven architectures such as RabbitMQ.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and the judgment to review generated code.
  • Professional English and clear written communication for primarily asynchronous collaboration.
  • Experience working autonomously in a fast-moving, ambiguous remote startup.
  • Preferred: experience in payments, banking, fintech, treasury, settlement, stablecoins, custody wallets, FX, multi-currency accounting, liquidity management, financing instruments, audits, or regulatory reporting.
  • Preferred: familiarity with ISO 20022 camt.053 or BAI2 payment and bank statement formats.
  • Must be authorized to work in the country of residence; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
  • Offers are contingent on permitted background, employment, education, and sanctions screening.
