Description

  • Lead, mentor, and coach the software engineering team to support performance and professional growth.
  • Own delivery planning, sprint execution, and release management across the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to define the roadmap and translate requirements into actionable plans.
  • Drive architecture decisions, enforce code quality standards, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Oversee production reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
  • Contribute hands-on to backend and frontend codebases, including AWS-based architecture and integrations.
  • Guide technical priorities so development work aligns with business outcomes.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Customer Experience, and leadership to solve customer problems.
  • Maintain a high-performance, collaborative engineering culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and coaching software engineers in a team environment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience writing production code.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
  • Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Backend development experience with .NET or Node.js.
  • Frontend development experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience leading Agile/Scrum delivery, including sprint execution and release management.
  • Experience leading production operations, including incident response and reliability practices.
  • Experience collaborating with Product stakeholders on roadmap and requirements.
  • Experience working in a B2B SaaS product environment.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, approximately 4 trips per year, to Mississauga or Waterloo, Ontario.
  • Security Clearance with the Government of Canada (nice to have).
  • Bilingual in English and French (nice to have).
  • Experience in fleet management, telematics, or ELD software (nice to have).
  • Experience with OBD-II, CAN bus, GPS data streams, ELD compliance standards, GoodData, Kafka, BigQuery, Redshift, HubSpot, Stripe, GoCardless, GitHub Actions, or CodePipeline is relevant to the role environment.
