Description

  • Design and develop high-quality backend applications and low-latency AWS API services.
  • Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrations with external services through SDKs.
  • Develop and maintain secure multi-tenant environments using PostgreSQL/AuroraDB.
  • Write raw SQL and manage database schema migrations.
  • Contribute to frontend development with React when needed.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD applications and pipelines.
  • Implement comprehensive testing, including integration tests with real databases and fault-injection testing.
  • Collaborate with clients and distributed teams while taking ownership of deliverables and commitments.
  • Apply software development best practices across complex systems and client projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional backend-focused software development experience.
  • Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Experience building low-latency API services in AWS and scalable RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with SDK integrations and PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security.
  • Experience building secure multi-tenant environments and managing schema migrations with tools such as node-postgres or node-pg-migrate.
  • Professional experience with React and the ability to contribute across the full stack.
  • Strong testing practices, including real-database integration testing and failure-mode testing.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD applications.
  • Background working with large, complex systems; strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree required and ability to overlap US business hours.
  • Preferred: experience with event-sourced or bitemporal data models, Fastify, Zod, AWS Fargate/ECS, or compliance-sensitive domains.
