Description

  • Develop and maintain data models for core application and reporting databases.
  • Monitor the execution and performance of daily data pipelines and triage or escalate issues.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and pipelines that feed BI tools.
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality and keep production data accurate and available.
  • Write unit and integration tests, contribute to the engineering wiki, and document work.
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and support issue resolution.
  • Work within AWS and Linux cloud environments to support data integration solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Share knowledge, provide visibility into accomplishments, and follow team direction as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data pipeline development using SnapLogic, Datastage, Informatica, or similar tools.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
  • Ability to solve ongoing issues with operating clusters.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQLServer, Redshift, Postgres, and RDS.
  • Experience with one or more data integration platforms such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, Talend OpenStudio, Jitterbit, or Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations for always-up, always-available services.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills with strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience with large data stores, data governance, and data quality principles.
  • Understanding of business analytics, including basic metric building and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with integration architecture, source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and data flow diagrams.
  • Familiarity with web services such as XML, REST, and SOAP.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control software.
  • Experience with BI tools such as GoodData, Tableau, or PowerBI, preferably GoodData.
  • Broad experience with RDBMS platforms including MS SQLServer, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with SaaS/cloud data systems such as Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse design concepts such as star schemas, change data capture, and denormalization.
  • Experience with SQL/DDL query tuning techniques such as indexing, sorting, and distribution.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
